Hello Cugini,
My earliest Calitrani ancestor was Nicola Lettieri di Monteverde. He seems to have the ancestor for all Lettieri family in Calitri. He was married and had 3 sons, at least and 2 daughters, at least. Anyone know how to find further info on Lettieri family from Monteverde?
Also does anyone know of the origins of the Salomone and Nicholais families? Was Salomone a Jewish Italian name that became Catholic? Was Nicholais a French name that became Italian?
Finally, can any one tell me about Giuseppe Galgano, b.1854 and his wife Frances b. 1853. My immigrant ancestor was Berardino Lettieri (b. May 1879). He left for American in Jan 1903 and was said to be visiting his uncle Giuseppe Galgano in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Berardino was son of Francesco Lettieri (d. 1904 Calitri) and Rosa Speranza (another name I would like to know the origins of in Calitri).

Il mio bisnonno paterno grande č nato a Calitri. Il suo nome era Vincenzo Cerreta ed č nato nel 1866. Ha sposato Assunta Semerraro da Napoli e sono venuti negli Stati Uniti nel 1895. E 'morto poco dopo.

My paternal great great grandfather was born in Calitri. His name was Vincenzo Cerreta and was born in 1866. He married Assunta Semerraro from Napoli and they came to the United States in 1895. He died shortly after that.
